KNITTING DRESS VIVALDI KNITTING PATTERN

Knitting pattern for a mohair dress. Lovely knitted dress with fine details and a wonderfully light, loose fit. The dress is knitted from the top down. The top of the dress is knitted with 2 strands of Hip Mohair; the skirt is knitted with one strand. You start by knitting the front and back pieces (4 pieces). Once the neckline is finished, the front pieces are knitted together. The back pieces are knitted separately all the way to create an open back with ties. When the armholes are finished, the back piece is knitted together with the front pieces, back and forth.

When the top of the dress is finished knitting, all stitches are placed together on one needle, 1 strand. The skirt part of the dress is knitted further in rounds. Knitted with or without a slit in the side. Somewhat transparent in the skirt part, especially in light colors. Tips in the pattern for adjustments.

An i-cord edge is made around the back opening with the neckline and around the armholes. I-cord lacing in the back (see video tutorial on the page or our YouTube channel). Fit is adjusted by tightening or loosening the elastic in the back ribbing as well as tying the i-cord lacing in the back.

FIT
Allow for + 5-15 cm of movement as desired. The dress can be laced shut or fastened open at the back. The ribbed hem of the skirt is also adjusted as desired. (Tip: It's a good idea to measure the bust circumference of a tank top/dress you already own and like the fit of, and size according to the measurements here. You can adjust the length yourself along the way).
