When the armhole is created, the front and back pieces are divided into 2 parts which are knitted separately to the specified length. Sewn or knitted together over the shoulders. Ease (positive ease) is approximately +15-20 cm from your bust/upper body measurement for a slightly loose fit. If your bust (or widest part of your upper body) measurement is 92 cm, size M will fit best (20 cm ease). Are you between two sizes? For the pattern diagram to match up, there are quite a few centimeters between each size. If you are unsure whether to go up or down a size, measure the upper body of a sweater you like the fit of.

When colorwork knitting, sweaters cannot be stretched much in shape by steaming/washing. If you're between two sizes in circumference, go up a size and instead knit the sleeves and body length to your desired size.

Note – correct measurements depend on maintaining stitch gauge. It is therefore important that you choose the right needle size according to stitch gauge.
