Knitting pattern for a basic children's sweater. The sweater is easy to knit and can definitely be recommended for beginners.
The sweater is knitted in Bon Bon – a delightful blend of alpaca and merino. The work is knitted from the top down, making it easy to adjust the length of the sleeves and body as you go.
The garment has a range of motion/ «positive ease» of approximately 10 cm. Measure the chest circumference and choose a size based on measurements that are + 10 cm from the child's chest circumference (or as desired). It is also recommended to measure the chest circumference of a sweater the child already has and likes the fit of. After steaming/rinsing, the sweater will stretch out approximately 5 cm in chest circumference (and can also be stretched a bit to shape if desired).
