ATLAS SWEATER KNITTING PATTERN
Knitting pattern for a children's sweater with fine details and fit. The sweater is knitted from the top down. You start by casting on stitches at the neck and knitting back and forth while increasing on each side to get a nice fit over the shoulders. When the back piece is finished, the front pieces are knitted by picking up stitches from the back piece. The front and back pieces are knitted together after the armhole is finished. The sleeves are knitted from the top down, picking up stitches in the armhole of the body.
FIT
Ease (positive ease) is 15-20 cm from the chest/bust measurement for a loose fit. If the child measures, for example, 63 cm around the widest part of their torso, sizes 4-5 years or 6-7 years will fit best (ease of 17 cm or 21 cm). Choose size based on bust measurement and adjust sleeve and body length to fit the child. You can also measure the bust of a sweater the child already has and likes the fit of.
Note – correct measurements require that stitch gauge is observed.
You also need a needle for thread attachment, scissors, and a measuring tape.
The knitting pattern will be sent as a PDF file to the email address provided in your order. You can also find it under «My Account» if you create a user. Remember to check your spam folder if you do not receive the pattern. Download and save the pattern after purchase.
